0. Context

WhatsApp is the most used communication channel in the world, with over 3 billion daily active users. It’s basically the operating system of emerging countries. Still, it hasn’t seen much innovation. We think new tech—like AI, MCPs and the opening of the platform—can open up tons of possibilities to build upon.

1. Goal

• Ship products on top the WhatsApp ecosystem (either Cloud API, Web WhatsApp or any other alternative API).
• Create community and inspire new builders around WhatsApp.
• Position main sponsors as leaders on the WhatsApp ecosystem.

2. Scope

• Core technologies to use:
  • WhatsApp integrations (either through WhatsApp Webstore, Cloud API, Co-existence API, or external APIs)
  • LLM Agents, MCP, RAG, Chatbots, Automations
  • Workflow integrations
• Minimum deliverable: link to a finished product/WhatsApp number + demo video ≤ 3 min

4. Target audience

• Developers (backend, frontend, ML, data).
• Product & UX.
• Advanced students of STEM careers.
• Quotas: 50 participants + 5 mentors + 4 jurors
